OUT IN JULY: ALBAN BERG ENSEMBLE WIEN ON DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON On 17th July, Deutsche Grammophon will release the debut album of the Alban Berg Ensemble Wien with a tailor made repertoire. Together with Anton Webern’s arrangement of the Schoenberg Chamber Symphony will be two new arrangements made exclusively for the ABEW by Martyn Harry: the Rosenkavalier Suite and the Adagio of the Mahler 10. |

In their performance of Schönberg’s Kammersymphonie, they conjure up the correct colours from the expressionist dissonances on their instruments, and Strauss’ Rosenkavalier Suite sounds utterly “Wienerisch”…Sublime!’
